Help paying for care

On My Way Pre-K. We are the only provider in Greencastle that accepts On My Way Pre-K, Indiana’s preschool assistance program for four-year-olds (as of the July 2026 state provider listing). Worth knowing up front: the program currently covers up to about $148/week, so for our RATE_FULL_DAY/week program, families pay the difference. It reduces the cost; it does not cover it.

Child care vouchers (CCDF). We accept vouchers. Indiana has frozen new voucher enrollment statewide, with no new awards expected before 2027. If you have an active voucher, call us. If you are waiting on one, join our list and we will contact you the moment the freeze lifts.

If our rates are out of reach right now: Putnam County Head Start offers free part-day preschool (8:00 to 2:30, ages three to five) for families who qualify on income. While the voucher freeze is on, that is the better option for many families, and we would rather tell you than waste your time. Putnam County Head Start — HEADSTART_PHONE

Infant and toddler care

Going back to work in six weeks?

We take infants from six weeks old. In Putnam County, that is a shorter list than most parents expect: New Pathways operates the county’s only dedicated infant and toddler rooms (per the July 2026 state provider listing). Everywhere else, infants are cared for in mixed-age home settings alongside children as old as thirteen.

Dedicated rooms mean: teachers whose entire day is infants, a room built for infants, and a state-required ratio of one teacher to every four babies.

Where your baby actually is. Right now, all of our infants and toddlers are in our main building on 2010 Zinc Mill Road, so siblings stay under one roof and families have one drop-off. We hold additional licensed space for infants and young children that we open as enrollment grows. Wherever your child is placed, it is the same program and the same team. If you tour with us, you will see the room your child would actually be in that week.

Our infant room is currently full. Toddler spots are open now. Join the infant waitlist and we will call you as soon as a spot opens or we open a second room.

How we compare to school preschool

The public school preschool is a good program, and for some families it is the right fit. Here is the honest difference:

New Pathways compared with school preschool
Category New Pathways School preschool
Hours 7:30 to 5:00, one schedule Morning or afternoon session
Calendar All year About 180 days, no summer
Ages served 6 weeks through pre-K 3 and 4 only
Before and after care Included Arrange separately
Siblings Infant and preschooler, one place Preschooler only

If you work a standard day, a half-day session and a ~180-day calendar means arranging a second and third form of care, and a new arrangement every time your child ages up. We are one place, all day, all year, from six weeks through the summer before kindergarten.
